Palestine

I took part in the Temple of Peace during one of the hardest periods of my life. As a Palestinian refugee living in Arnhem, I was already carrying the weight of my people's suffering. Then I received the devastating news that my grandfather and uncle had died in Gaza.

Despite my grief, working on the project gave me strength and hope. Creating a peace flag reminded me that, no matter how unbearable life becomes, we must rise again.

We must continue to stand for justice, freedom and dignity for all people. Peace is not a privilege reserved for some. It is a fundamental right that belongs to everyone, without exception.

That is the belief I carried into my flag, and the belief I will continue to carry with me.
